Scribble Mentor – a “Handwriting 2020” campaign project

Become a scribble mentor and support kindergarten children in taking their first steps into the world of handwriting, either individually or in a team. The aim is to generate enjoyment and fun with pen and paper. The Scribble Mentor project provides playful and motivating exercise materials for your Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) activities.

CORPORATE VOLUNTEERING: DISCOVER WRITING PLAYFULLY.

Children should have the opportunity to learn how to write quickly and legibly without getting tired – an important basis for later learning success. Neuroscientific studies demonstrate the important function of writing by hand for the learning process and for children’s cognitive development. It is alarming that more than 30 percent of girls and more than 50 percent of boys have difficulties developing their handwriting*. Amongst the most common problems are a cramped pen hold, illegible handwriting and writing too slowly. This calls for decisive action: Children need targeted support in developing their handwriting. This should begin before they start school.

Scribble mentors motivate and support kindergarten children to help them gain experience with pen and paper. With simple and playful exercises you “casually” help the children and at the same time make them want to read and write in the future! Trying out the pens will be fun and the scribble mentors usually end up discovering something new too! Scribble mentors play at “writing” with the children. The aim is to encourage and support enjoyment and fun with pen and paper.
